SELISE Annual Tour: Malaysia Diaries
February 11, 2014
“Never go on trips with anyone you do not love” – Ernest Hemingway.
Well, the SELISE family sprung upon excitement as suddenly a mail from the CTO, Shah Ali Newaj Topu came stating that this year the stakes are high and the Annual Tour is being upgraded to a whole new level and the destination is, wait for it……………..Malaysia!
So, after all the boring official stuff and heavy packing, the 2nd SELISE Annual trip to Malaysia started with almost 80% of the company staffs flying for Kuala Lumpur in the first week of 2014. At that time, none knew that on return SELISE rockstars will be packed with endless fun and amazing adventure experiences and…..chocolates of course! The team stayed in “Hotel Sentral Pudu” which offered a mind-blowing view and top notch service. Not to mention, the buffet breakfast was the best thing to get the rockstars out of bed!
With proper justification to the marketing slogan “Malaysia, truly Asia” this amazing country left very little time for sleeping as the whole SELISE team were roaming around the city all along day and night. Malaysia is the melting point of different nationalities and cultures, not ignoring the amazing range of cuisines it has to offer. Through this travel, the bondage within the team has grown stronger along with each other’s family members. This time, everyday rockstars were meeting not at the office to start work but to have a lifelong experience of fun and laughter!
As groups get scattered when they are too big so on the tour, a day was mandatory for everyone to get together. On this day, the journey was set for Genting Highlands which is called Malaysia’s ‘City of Entertainment’. On the way to Genting, the team visited a Chocolate factory and Petronas Twin Towers. Along with the amazing mountain view from window side, the bus journey became memorable through huge laughing, betting and well, ransom demand from the CTO for shooting everyone’s facebook profile picture!
When the team reached at the peak of the mountain Gunung Ulu Kali, the view on the valley was heavenly. The chilly and foggy atmosphere along with floating clouds made it even more spectacular. And before rude awakening from the beauty of Genting highlands and feel the terrible hunger, there was an announcement for unlimited burgers at McDonald’s by SELISE!! That was one great resort to pass a quality time doing indoor and outdoor activities.
On the way back to KL, the team stopped at Batu Caves, a steep 272-step climb up both a Hindu temple and shrine, with a colossal statue of the Lord Murugan as the last attraction of that day. The caves inside the mountain, beautiful view and hundreds of birds on the arena was a really different experience.
“No one realizes how beautiful it is to travel until he comes home and rests his head on his old, familiar pillow.”– Lin Yutang
Well, these 4 days just passed in the blink of an eye but the beautiful memories and amazing friendship that born through this trip is unforgettable and enough to bring smile to our rockstar’s faces any time. So let’s cut short and just say big thanks to SELISE from the rockstars!
